Connie Parsons School of Dance became the new owner of Judy Fagan’s School in 1996, continuing a legacy of dance that spans over 40 years in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
CPSOD has continued to grow, thrive and improve over the years. We’ve given many students a positive introduction to the world of dance and many teachers their first opportunity to do what they love before moving on to full time careers in dance.
Our main objective is to impact every student’s life in a positive way and ensure that they love learning to dance. We have an amazing team of teachers, most of who have been trained and certified through our own school’s examination program which is governed by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (London, England) and/or The Cecchetti Society of Canada. We also have special guest instructors each year teaching Hip Hop, Breakin’, Streetfunk, and more.
Connie Parsons School of Dance accepts students as young as 18 months beginning with their Parent & Tot program. There is also a very popular set of classes for BOYS ONLY! Students at CPSOD learn Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Modern, Hip Hop, Breakin’, and more…and make friendships that last a lifetime.
A good dance school teaches technique and skills with expertise. A great dance school does all that and more. At Connie Parsons School of Dance, it’s about more than dance. It’s about motivating people to be the best they can be.
“Dance develops many important skills. It enables children to explore their natural love of movement. The patience, discipline and determination learned in the studio can be applied to all future endeavors.” – Karen Kain

Our Studios
CPSOD moved to its current home at 77 Portugal Cove Road in 1999. During the summer of 2008 we have undergone some huge renovations and added a second studio to our current location. Our spacious, newly renovated and expanded building, boosts three levels of modern amenities and conveniences, including TWO beautiful bright dance studios with sprung floors, a specialty dancewear store, a parent/student waiting area and two large viewing windows, studio office, staff room, kitchenette, costume room and prop storage.
Both studios are a pleasure to teach in and a joy to dance in. Natural sunlight from two full walls of windows enhances the atmosphere of a positive place to learn. The studio has hardwood floors, a full size mirror, double barres, a piano and a surround sound stereo system.
Our waiting area has two large viewing windows for parents, as well as children’s games, books, and a notice board to keep everyone updated.
